Excited and inspired by this, I have designed and made embroideries every since.

I have also been strongly influenced by years spent in the Far East as a teenager. I love the fine detail and delicacy of the thread work and other crafts of the Eastern cultures. I am influenced also by the architecture, sculpture and bright, clear formal patterns of Middle Eastern art and design. Indian and Persian miniatures and rugs and Islamic forms also have an impact on me. My other work includes carpets, handwoven to my designs in Thailand; gold leaf embossed prints and greeting cards; coloured pencil drawings and oil paintings."
