SHIRLEY CAMERON-ROBERTS 'Connections' Exhibition of mixed media works showing at Breewood Gallery, 167 The Mall, Leura, NSW 2780 11 November - 1 December 2000 "Trees and forests have always meant a lot to me. My earliest memories are of hours spent along the banks of the Murray River in the shade of river red gums, their massive trunks streaked with straggly bark, long limbs reaching out across the water. Now I live at Eccleston fifteen minutes from the Barrington Tops State Forest and National Park. The trees are different here, tall and slim with white trunks dominant. The paintings and drawings in this exhibition have evolved from this experience. They express thoughts and feelings about the connection between people and trees. A connection, which like most relationships, has its share of beauty, joy, difficulty and tragedy." Shirley Cameron-Roberts About Shirley Cameron-Roberts |
