Artist's statement

"Contemporary visual landscapes are filled with mediated imagery that, in a way, forms our particular 'natural environment'. So much of our visual landscape is generated by a public imagination outside of us. We have to strive to find where a piece of us personally resides and can be expressed. In my work I try to create 'moments' or 'spaces' that speak to the private senses. I try to juxtapose a sense of alienation with passages of sensuality and intimacy, reflecting this visual environment."
