GREG HYDE Exhibition of paintings showing at Breewood Gallery, 167 The Mall, Leura, NSW 2780 22 September - October 19, 2001 The exhibition opens at Breewood Gallery on Saturday, 22 September. You are invited to be present for a preview and drinks with the artist from 6pm "This collection of works illustrates some of the lesser known fantasies and icons of the way across the Blue Mountains. The Three Sisters are well known and often painted, but not the "Brumbies of the Blue Gum Forest" nor the "Dragon Ticklers of Newnes Junction". Few people experience the "Paris End of Leura" or "The Great Useless Tree of Linden" unless they spend years travelling and researching this extraordinary meander between Sydney and the outback . Each village from Emu Plains to Zig Zag has a tale to tell and many of them are pictured in this exhibition ... like it or not." - Greg Hyde |
